Senior Software Engineer — AI-Driven Payment Systemsrecent
Viewpost·Fully Remote We're a B2B payments platform (VCC, ACH, check) building a multi-tier agent architecture that replaces manual batch workflows with real-time, AI-optimized decision-making. Think ML-based scoring, decision-theoretic optimization, and human-AI collaboration — making thousands of real financial allocation decisions per day. The architecture is designed and documented. You'll join a sharp, experienced team and own the build. Day-to-day: decision engine for optimal action sequencing, real-time WebSocket infrastructure for human agents, scoring/ranking pipelines combining ML outputs with business rules, data pipelines for ML feature extraction, database migrations, event handlers, serverless functions. Stack: .NET 10, C#, DDD/CQRS/event-driven, SQL Server, AWS (Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB), React (internal admin UI), Python (ML scoring pipeline). We use Claude Code as a daily development tool. Looking for: strong C#/systems fundamentals, fluent with agentic coding workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.), someone who thinks in state machines and optimization trade-offs, and who ships. React/TypeScript, AWS serverless, Python, or payments/fintech experience are strong pluses. Small team, low ceremony, fully remote. Profitable company — not dependent on the next funding round. Competitive benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k match, PTO). You'll own features end-to-end from schema to production. Contact: [email protected]

Location: Fremont, CA (SF Bay Area) Remote: Yes Willing to relocate: No Technologies: Distributed systems, database architecture, F1/Spanner, infrastructure scaling, technical debt triage Résumé/CV: Email: [email protected] Distributed systems architect. 30 years building infrastructure at CMU, Microsoft Research, Google. I help startups (10-100 people, Series A-C) avoid catastrophic scaling mistakes. I'd rather prevent your outage than debug it. What I've built: Mach kernel at CMU under Rick Rashid. Research systems at Microsoft BARC (Gordon Bell, Jim Gray). 9 years on F1/Spanner at Google. 4 USPTO patents in distributed systems. What I'm good at: "Your database architecture will fail at 10x scale, here's why and here's the fix." Technical debt triage with limited resources. Pattern recognition from decades of catastrophic failures. Currently thinking about LLM verification architectures and why static alignment is the VLIW of AI safety. What I'm looking for: Fractional CTO or senior advisory role (20-30 hrs/week). Series A-C, 10-100 people, real infrastructure problems.·Remote

Zed Industries·https://zed.dev/ Zed is a company for developers, by developers. All 3 of our founders have spent years in the trenches writing software and still do it almost every single day. We've raised $42M to support our ultimate vision, a new way to collaborate on software, where conversations about code remain connected to the code itself, instead of being tied to aging snapshots or scattered across different tools. The first step was creating a high-quality editor to serve as the user interface. Now this new investment lets us expand to tackle the next phase of our plan. We're developing a new kind of operation-based version control that incrementally tracks the evolution of your code with edit-level granularity, and we're integrating it into Zed to make collaboration, both with agents and teammates, a first-class part of the coding experience.
